BRANDING:
Creating your Own Web Site Identity:
You can help to define your Web site before our visit by answering the following questions:
- Begin by determining the purpose of your Web site: What do you want
to accomplish? What is unique about your service, product? Who is
your audience? What is your competition? Write a brief mision statement.
- What
image do you want to present? Chose a few words as: capable, credible,
educational, corporate, professional, friendly, reliable, trustworthy,
accurate, sophisticated, hip, young, casual, modern, witty, creative,
simple.
- Choose
five key words to describe your site's topic.
- Determine
your audience's needs. Add community oriented pages (calendars,
discussion boards, intranets, chat) to meet those needs.
- Be
consistent to reflect your purpose and goals: headings, links, images
and text (tone, choice of words, fonts) should all support your
mission statement.
- Focus:
don't put everything you have online unless it supports your site's
goals and purpose.
